At the time of her life, Pankaj used to travel across the country to play in matches. Aayushi did not think that she would one day follow in his steps. A very good academic performer, Aayushi wished to study MBBS as a teenager.

Start of Shooting Career

Things turned a bit quickly when her father asked her to try shooting. Pankaj spoke about his goal of watching his daughter follow in his steps. "When my child was barely five and a half, I had the idea I could make her an shot Olympic gold medalist" Pankaj says.

Soon after, she began to train to honor her father's wishes. In just seven days of being able to hold an air gun, Ayushi became a national champion!

"It it was the first time I competed in a event but I already was a winner!" she says, her excitement clearly evident in her voice. Her first major win spurred Junior Podder to take up shooting.
